It's been another busy week for the Riverside Beat Team, carrying out proactive patrols, tackling crime, safeguarding vulnerable people and engaging with our local community.

🚲 Illegal E Bike & E-Scooter Operation

Working alongside the City Centre Beat Team and Immigration Enforcement, officers carried out proactive checks across Riverside and the City Centre.

✅ 11 illegal e scooters seized

✅ 10 illegal e bikes seized

✅ One male arrested after immigration checks revealed he was in breach of visa conditions

🚔 Drug Related Arrest & Safeguarding

🚔 PC Merryn and PC Jess arrested a male suspected of being involved in drug supply and the exploitation of a vulnerable resident through cuckooing in the Riverside area. The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable members of the community and tackle drug-related offending.

💊 Significant Drug Seizure

PC Callum and PC Merryn carried out enquiries in the Riverside area which led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 30,000 Pregabalin capsules.

This seizure forms part of a larger ongoing investigation involving partner agencies, including Border Force, and highlights the continued work being undertaken to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs and keep our communities safe.

🤝 Partnership Working

PC Fabian attended a meeting with Leicester City Council regarding an individual causing ongoing concerns within the Riverside area. Partnership work continues to identify appropriate interventions and reduce the impact on the local community.

🎓 Supporting Students

With students returning for the new academic year, PC Jess has been conducting reassurance patrols around the De Montfort University area and preparing for Freshers' Week, providing a visible presence for students, staff and residents.

🏪 Engagement Weekly

PCSO V visited local businesses across the Riverside Beat, offering reassurance, listening to concerns and building positive relationships to help address issues affecting the area.

PCSO V hosted a Bike Register event at Castle Gardens, where several bikes were security marked and added to the national Bike Register database.

PCSO Jamine and Hafsa took part in Neighbourhood Policing Portfolio Training, strengthening their skills to deliver professional, community focused policing across the beat and improve their ability to respond to local priorities
